Gala Dinner

Prader-Willi Alliance of NY, Inc. (PWANY)  will be hosting this formal affair to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We have come a long way, and we certainly couldn’t have done it without the help of the many dedicated parents and professionals who have truly paved the path toward a brighter future for all people with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS). So many advancements have been made in the last two decades that life with PWS barely resembles the outlook given to most in the past.

This alone is worth celebrating!

Among the people who have given so much of themselves are our honorees for this event, Dr. Morris Angulo, Janalee Heinemann, and B.J. Goff. It is our pleasure to highlight just some of the achievements they have made on behalf of our loved ones. This grand celebration will include a full three course meal, complete with beverage, for only $28 per person. Dinner will be served Friday, April 30, 2010 at 6:30 pm, with menu choices that are sure to please. To make this a special night noteworth missing, there will be live music on hand. Whether you choose to sit and listen, or get up and dance, the band Baby Daddy featuring Tom Roberto (whose child has PWS) will be an enjoyable treat.

If you are sitting here reading this and thinking that it sounds great but that there is no way your child would make it through the evening, well, we thought of that too! There will be an opportunity before the Gala for you to accompany your child to a dinner of their own. The cost is only $5 per child and includes dinner as well as professional child care during the Gala so that moms and dads can truly relax and enjoy themselves. There will be activities to keep busy children busy, as well as cots available so that the sleepy ones may rest. It doesn’t get any easier than that!

You will be receiving another invitation by mail as well as an opportunity to purchase space in the Conference Journal. This is an opportunity for you to acknowledge achievements made by people with PWS in print  for all of the attendees to see. It’s a great way to accentuate all those positive moments we enjoy with our loved ones.

In honor of the Alliance’s twentieth anniversary, we are printing a Commemorative Journal to be distributed at our Gala Celebration Dinner on Friday night, April 30th at 6:30 p.m. following the General Conference. The journal will honor three special people who have worked tirelessly over these many years to improve the lives of our Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) population.

The journal will also provide families, friends, businesses, and organizations a wonderful opportunity to support our cause by purchasing ad space in the journal.

How can you help?

• Thrill the PWS person in your life with a journal ad and message
  in his or her name.

• Ask family and friends to do the same.

And don’t forget about the providers, educators, and business associates who may be happy to contribute to our cause with a journal ad. What will it cost? Ads for the journal have been reasonably priced to encourage your participation.

• Full white page ads will sell for $100

• One half page ads will sell for $50

• Quarter page ads will sell for $25

• Gold page ads for $300.
